The majority of William's workshops are delivered for The King's Foundation School of Traditional Arts, and have taken place in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and China. He also runs workshops privately for individuals and groups. Design workshops have been delivered for design teams from companies including John Lewis and Sainsbury's. William has also run workshops at UK museums including the Wallace Collection and Dulwich Picture Gallery.  

Geometry Workshops


It is in our nature to search for patterns and find order in a seemingly chaotic world. Developing repeating patterns and spiraling forms with the use of a ruler and compass is the ideal method for understanding the order of nature and the principles of traditional pattern design shared by the worlds great civilisations.

William has ten years experience teaching geometry internationally to all levels of experience and ages. He offers drawing and making workshops to groups in person or via video conferencing software.      

Painting Workshops


William offers workshops in traditional and experimental painting techniques, colour theory, pigment and paint making. 

Workshops in the preparation of pigments, understanding their physical properties and how best to use them in different mediums and how to use them. Mediums that are explored include gouache, egg tempera and oil painting techniques.  

Drawing Workshops


Developing a drawing practice is an essential part of any artists or designers creative tool kit. William offers workshops in developing line, tone and memory. 

William has also developed a workshop renaissance metal point drawing. Looking at both traditional techniques and grounds, alongside newer and experimental techniques including methods for tarnishing the inscribed metals.
