AlUla Series

I first visited AlUla, Saudi Arabia in 2019 as part of a team with the Prince's School, establishing a traditional arts and craft educational programme in the desert oasis town. The series of paintings has been inspired by the impression left by both the people and landscape of AlUla.

The making process for the series started with me sourcing the pigments. The majority of the colour palette in the painting has been made from earth, mineral and organic matter I foraged from the desert, refined by hand, taken through a process, and made into a unique water colour range.
